MEMORIES IN MOTION Music and Entertainment is
owned and operated full-time by DJ Entertainer Shawn Steele. Shawn
has been in the entertainment business most of his professional
career, and is the region’s principal specialist in the
field of weddings and entertainment. His passion for music and
entertaining started at age 15 when he played music for his friends
and family at parties. His fascination with making people laugh
and have a good time grew, and his friends and high school Guidance
Counselor fueled the passion by encouraging him to become a professional
DJ. Subsequently, he attended Edinboro University and received
his Bachelors degree in Communications. He was awarded a graduate
assistantship, and went on to complete his Masters Degree, also
in Communications.

While attending college, Shawn got his start in the Event Planning
and Entertainment Industry in 1990 working for JET-FM 102 (WJET)
as a DJ and Promotions Assistant. He simultaneously worked at
Edinboro University’s radio station (WFSE) as a DJ and a
Production Assistant. He then went on to work for Classy 100 (WXKC)
in 1995 as a DJ and Co-Promotions Director. His skills grew on
the radio, but the promotions are where his entertainment skills,
showmanship and attention to details developed. After repeated
requests for Shawn to perform at private events outside of radio,
MEMORIES IN MOTION Music and Entertainment was
born in 1992.
Shawn received several referrals from his first wedding reception,
making the response overwhelming. When word spread about his performances,
people sought Shawn out for his unique talents. Since then he
has worked with many celebrities, couples, families and professionals.
Shawn’s attention to details helped arrange “Meet
and Greets” with such celebrities as Def Leppard, Bryan
Adams, Damn Yankees, Winger, Nelson, Bruce Baumgartner, Lita Ford
and Ozzy Osbourne just to name a few. He has also performed for
hundreds of couples and families, making their events unforgettable,
fun and one of a kind. Most notably was the “Wheel of Weddings.”
It was a huge promotion where local couples got married on a huge,
brand-new Ferris wheel installed at Waldameer Park (Erie, Pennsylvania).
The winning couple received the wedding of their dreams which
included Shawn Steele as the DJ. For over 10 years, Shawn’s
unique programs of music and games have helped many event planners
and companies like T.G.I. Fridays, Wendy’s, The LORD Corporation,
Alliance Plastics, Renal Care, The Avalon, Z-102, Classy 100,
Country 98, and GE make their events successful and memorable!
For many years, MEMORIES IN MOTION Music and Entertainment
has been the choice of brides and event planners across the tri-state
area (Pennsylvania, New York and Ohio). Shawn’s calendar
quickly fills with referrals from other wedding couples and corporations.
If Shawn is not available for a date, he has several other recommended
DJs to choose from. It is not uncommon for an event to be booked
up to 3 years in advance, making his team some of the busiest
DJs in the area. It is best to reach Shawn at least 4 to 12 months
